Description

This Five-Minute Peanut Satay Sauce is a quick and easy way to elevate any dish with a creamy, savory, and slightly spicy peanut flavor. Perfect for drizzling over grilled meats, tofu, vegetables, or as a dipping sauce for spring rolls. Made with just a few simple ingredients, this sauce brings a burst of flavor in no time!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

  • 1 tsp lime juice

  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes or sriracha (optional for heat)

  • Water to thin (about 2-4 tbsp)

Instructions

  1. Mix the ingredients:

    • In a small bowl, combine the peanut butter, soy sauce, honey (or maple syrup), rice vinegar, sesame oil, lime juice, garlic powder, and chili flakes or sriracha (if using).

  2. Thin the sauce:

    • Slowly add water, one tablespoon at a time, stirring constantly until the sauce reaches your desired consistency. It should be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon but thin enough to drizzle or dip.

  3. Taste and adjust:

    • Taste the sauce and adjust the seasoning to your liking. Add more lime juice for acidity, honey for sweetness, or chili flakes for extra heat.

  4. Serve:

    • Use immediately as a dipping sauce, drizzle over grilled meats, vegetables, or noodles, or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.

Notes

  • For a smoother sauce, use creamy peanut butter. If you prefer some texture, opt for crunchy peanut butter.

  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more honey or maple syrup depending on your preference.

  • For extra flavor, you can also add a bit of ginger or cilantro.

  • If you prefer a spicier version, increase the sriracha or chili flakes to your liking.
