Description

Ingredients

  • 1 package Kool-Aid (any flavor)
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda (for the fizz)
  • Lollipop sticks

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely.
  2. Once the sugar is dissolved, bring the mixture to a boil, and cook until the temperature reaches 300°F (hard crack stage) on a candy thermometer.
  3. Remove the pan from heat and carefully stir in the Kool-Aid powder and baking soda. Be cautious as the mixture may bubble and fizz!
  4. Immediately pour the candy mixture into lollipop molds, filling each mold about halfway. Insert lollipop sticks into the center of each mold.
  5. Let the lollipops cool and harden at room temperature for about 30 minutes to an hour.
  6. Once fully set, remove the lollipops from the molds and enjoy!

Notes

  • Be careful when working with hot sugar syrup—use a candy thermometer to ensure you reach the correct temperature.
  • If you don’t have lollipop molds, you can use silicone molds or parchment paper to form the lollipops.
  • You can make the lollipops in different colors and flavors by using different Kool-Aid packets.
  • Store the lollipops in an airtight container at room temperature to keep them fresh.
