Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package Kool-Aid (any flavor)
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda (for the fizz)
- Lollipop sticks
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Once the sugar is dissolved, bring the mixture to a boil, and cook until the temperature reaches 300°F (hard crack stage) on a candy thermometer.
- Remove the pan from heat and carefully stir in the Kool-Aid powder and baking soda. Be cautious as the mixture may bubble and fizz!
- Immediately pour the candy mixture into lollipop molds, filling each mold about halfway. Insert lollipop sticks into the center of each mold.
- Let the lollipops cool and harden at room temperature for about 30 minutes to an hour.
- Once fully set, remove the lollipops from the molds and enjoy!
Notes
- Be careful when working with hot sugar syrup—use a candy thermometer to ensure you reach the correct temperature.
- If you don’t have lollipop molds, you can use silicone molds or parchment paper to form the lollipops.
- You can make the lollipops in different colors and flavors by using different Kool-Aid packets.
- Store the lollipops in an airtight container at room temperature to keep them fresh.
