Description

These French Dip Biscuits turn the classic French dip sandwich into a delightful, easy-to-serve appetizer or snack, featuring savory roast beef and melty provolone cheese wrapped in golden, buttery biscuits.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (16.3-oz) can refrigerated biscuits (8-count)
  • 1 lb thinly sliced deli roast beef
  • 2 Tbsp creamy horseradish sauce (or to taste)
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 (1-oz) packet Au Jus Gravy mix

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Prepare the biscuits: Separate each biscuit into two layers. Spread a little horseradish sauce on each layer.
  • Assemble the biscuits: Top half of the biscuit layers with a slice of provolone cheese and some roast beef. Place the remaining biscuit layers on top, creating a sandwich, and pinch the edges to seal the biscuits.
  • Bake: Place the sealed biscuits on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
  • Prepare the Au Jus Gravy: While the biscuits are baking, prepare the Au Jus Gravy mix according to the package directions.
  • Serve: Serve the French Dip Biscuits warm with a side of the prepared Au Jus Gravy for dipping.

Notes

  • Cheese Varieties: You can try using Swiss, cheddar, or mozzarella for a different twist.
  • Make Ahead: You can assemble the biscuits up to 4 hours in advance and refrigerate them until you’re ready to bake.
  • Storage: Store any leftover biscuits in the refrigerator, wrapped individually. Reheat them in the oven for best results.
  • Serving Suggestion: These biscuits pair well with additional dipping sauces like spicy mustard or honey mustard, and a side salad for a more complete meal.
