Ingredients
Scale
- 1 bag of Doritos (any flavor you prefer)
- 8 oz block of cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite melting cheese)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Prepare the Cheese: Cut the block of cheese into small, bite-sized cubes or sticks, depending on your preference.
- Crush the Doritos: Place the Doritos in a resealable plastic bag and crush them using a rolling pin until finely ground. Transfer to a shallow dish.
- Prepare Breading Stations: In one shallow dish, place the all-purpose flour. In another dish, whisk the eggs. In a third dish, mix crushed Doritos with panko, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Coat the Cheese: Coat each piece of cheese in flour, dip into the eggs, and then roll in the Doritos-panko mixture, pressing to adhere.
- Chill: Place coated cheese pieces on a tray and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes to help the coating adhere.
- Heat the Oil: Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the Cheese: Fry the cheese in batches for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Serve: Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces like ranch, marinara, or queso.
