- 1/2 cup diced onions
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup marinara or pizza sauce
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the loaf lengthwise without cutting all the way through, creating a hinge.
- Hollow out some of the bread inside to make room for filling.
- In a skillet, sauté onions, bell peppers, and garlic until softened.
- Add cooked ground beef or sausage, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; cook for 3-4 minutes to combine flavors.
- Mix in marinara sauce, then remove from heat.
- Stuff the bread with the meat mixture, then layer mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
- Close the bread loaf, wrap in foil, and bake for 20 minutes.
- Unwrap and bake an additional 10 minutes for a crispy crust and melted cheese.
- Slice and serve warm.
