Description

Garlic Bread Grilled Cheese is the ultimate mashup of two comfort food favorites! Crispy, golden bread slathered in buttery garlic and packed with gooey melted cheese—it’s rich, satisfying, and ready in minutes for a crave-worthy lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices thick-cut bread (sourdough, white, or Texas toast)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise (optional, for extra crispiness)
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (or 1 tsp dried)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix softened butter, garlic, parsley, and a pinch of salt. Optional: stir in mayo for extra golden texture.
  2. Spread the garlic butter mixture on one side of each bread slice.
  3. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  4. Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet. Top each with an even mix of mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
  5. Place remaining bread slices on top, buttered side up.
  6. Grill for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  7. Remove from heat, let sit 1 minute, then slice and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra garlicky flavor, rub a raw garlic clove directly on the toasted bread before serving.
  • Try adding tomato slices, cooked bacon, or jalapeños for a twist.
  • Pairs perfectly with tomato soup or marinara for dipping.
  • Use pre-shredded cheese for convenience, or fresh grated for best melt and flavor.
