Description
Garlic Butter Baked Lobster Tails are a decadent seafood treat. Tender lobster tails are bathed in a rich garlic butter sauce and baked to perfection. This simple yet elegant dish is perfect for special occasions, dinner parties, or when you want to treat yourself to a restaurant-quality meal at home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 lobster tails (6–8 oz each)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
- Using kitchen shears, carefully cut the top shell of each lobster tail lengthwise, stopping just before the tail fin. Gently pull the meat out of the shell and lay it on top of the shell, keeping the base attached. This is called ‘piggybacking’ the lobster tail.
- Place the prepared lobster tails on the baking sheet, shell side down.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, paprika, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Pour the garlic butter mixture evenly over the lobster meat, making sure it’s well coated.
- Bake the lobster tails in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the lobster meat is opaque and the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C). The lobster meat should be firm to the touch but tender and juicy.
- Once baked, remove the lobster tails from the oven and garnish with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese (if using).
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side for a fresh burst of flavor.
Notes
- If you prefer your lobster tails with a little extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter mixture.
- For a richer flavor, you can substitute some of the butter with olive oil or add a bit of white wine to the sauce.
- This dish pairs wonderfully with a light salad, steamed vegetables, or a buttery risotto.
