These Garlic Butter Lobster Tails are the ultimate indulgence, featuring tender lobster meat soaked in a rich, flavorful garlic butter sauce. Perfect for special occasions or an elegant dinner, these lobster tails are sure to impress.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 lobster tails (frozen or fresh)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3–4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley (or fresh if preferred)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
Instructions
- Prepare the lobster tails: If using frozen lobster tails, thaw them in the refrigerator for several hours or overnight. To cut the lobster tails, use kitchen shears to cut down the center of the shell, stopping just before the tail end. Gently pull the lobster meat out of the shell, leaving the base attached.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C), or prepare a grill for medium-high heat.
- Make the garlic butter sauce: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, paprika, parsley, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
- Prepare the lobster tails: Place the lobster tails on a baking sheet or in a baking dish, brushing the garlic butter mixture generously over the lobster meat.
- Cook the lobster tails:
- Oven method: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the lobster meat is opaque and the internal temperature reaches 140°F (60°C).
- Grill method: Grill for 6-8 minutes per side, brushing with additional garlic butter while grilling.
- Once cooked, remove the lobster tails from the oven or grill and drizzle with any remaining garlic butter sauce.
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges and extra garlic butter sauce on the side.
Notes
- If you prefer, you can broil the lobster tails for a few minutes at the end to get a slightly crispy top.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter sauce for a spicy kick.
- Serve these lobster tails with a side of rice, vegetables, or a light salad for a complete meal.
