Ingredients
Scale
- For the Garlic Butter Steak Bites:
- 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried rosemary
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- For the Creamy Mashed Potatoes:
- 2 lbs potatoes (Yukon gold or russet), peeled and cut into chunks
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
- Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Mashed Potatoes: Place the peeled and cut potatoes in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
- Add the butter, heavy cream, and minced garlic (if using) to the potatoes. Mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside and keep warm.
- Cook the Garlic Butter Steak Bites: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the steak cubes with salt, pepper, dried thyme, and rosemary.
- Add the steak bites to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until they are browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness. Remove the steak bites from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds, or until fragrant. Return the steak bites to the skillet and toss them in the garlic butter sauce to coat evenly.
- Serve: Spoon the creamy mashed potatoes onto plates and top with the garlic butter steak bites. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- If you prefer a different cut of steak, you can use ribeye or tenderloin for even more tenderness and flavor.
- For extra creamy mashed potatoes, you can add a bit more butter or cream to achieve the desired consistency.
- If you like a bit of heat, add some crushed red pepper flakes to the garlic butter sauce for a spicy kick.
- This dish pairs well with a simple side of sautéed vegetables or a fresh salad to balance the richness.
