Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb bok choy, chopped
- 2 tbsp sesame oil (or vegetable oil)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp honey or maple syrup
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
- Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
- Green onions, chopped, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the chopped bok choy and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 4–5 minutes, until the bok choy wilts and softens.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey (or maple syrup), and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Pour the sauce over the bok choy and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, if desired, before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to add other vegetables like mushrooms, bell peppers, or carrots to the stir-fry for added flavor and texture.
- For a vegan version, use maple syrup instead of honey.
- Serve with rice or noodles for a complete meal.
