- For the Chicken:
- 2 lbs chicken tenders, thighs, or breasts, cut into 3-inch pieces
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- For the Garlic Parmesan Butter Sauce:
- 1 stick butter
- 8–10 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce (optional, more if desired)
- 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
- 1/3 cup fresh parsley, minced
- Chicken Seasonings:
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Prepare Chicken and Skewers:
- Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Place chicken pieces in a large bowl, toss with olive oil and seasoning mix until well-coated.
- Thread chicken onto skewers, packing pieces tightly.
- Make Garlic Parmesan Butter Sauce:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt butter partially with minced garlic. Stir in red pepper flakes, hot sauce, parsley, and Parmesan. Whisk until combined.
- Scoop out 1/3 of the sauce for basting during cooking, reserving the rest for serving.
- Air Fryer Cooking:
- Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Place 2-3 skewers in the air fryer and cook for 5 minutes. Flip, baste with sauce, and cook another 2 minutes. Flip again, baste, and cook 5-6 minutes more, until internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- After cooking, brush skewers with reserved sauce and sprinkle with extra Parmesan.
- Alternative Cooking Methods:
- Oven: Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Place skewers on a foil-lined baking sheet, cook for 14 minutes, flipping and basting halfway. Broil for an additional 2 minutes to brown, then brush with reserved sauce and extra Parmesan.
- Grill: Preheat grill to medium-high. Grill skewers over direct heat for 5-6 minutes per side, basting throughout. After grilling, brush with reserved sauce and extra Parmesan.
- Serve immediately and enjoy these juicy, flavorful skewers!
