Description

This Garlic Parmesan Sauce is creamy, flavorful, and packed with rich, savory garlic and Parmesan cheese. Whether you’re drizzling it over pasta, using it as a pizza sauce, or dipping crispy chicken wings, this sauce will elevate any dish! Easy to make and ready in minutes, it’s a versatile addition to your cooking repertoire.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced (or more, depending on your love of garlic)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (freshly grated for the best flavor)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional, for extra garlic flavor)
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice (optional, for balance)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Melt the Butter:
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Sauté the Garlic:
Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic, as it can turn bitter quickly.
  3. Add the Cream:
Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine with the butter and garlic. Bring the mixture to a simmer, and cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  4. Stir in the Parmesan:
Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until smooth and fully incorporated. Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce is creamy and thick.
  5. Season:
Add garlic powder, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper to taste. If you like a little brightness, you can also add a teaspoon of fresh lemon juice to balance the richness of the sauce.
  6. Serve:
Once the sauce has thickened to your desired consistency, remove it from the heat. Drizzle over pasta, use as a pizza sauce, or dip breadsticks and chicken wings into it. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and extra flavor.

Notes

  • Adjust thickness: If you prefer a thinner sauce, you can add a little more cream or milk to reach your desired consistency.
  • Add more garlic: If you’re a garlic lover, feel free to add more garlic cloves or even a pinch of garlic powder to boost the flavor.
  • Storage: This sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat it gently over low heat, adding a splash of cream or milk to loosen it up if necessary.
