Description

These Garlic Texas Toast Pizzas are a quick and easy way to enjoy pizza with a garlicky, buttery twist! With crispy, cheesy garlic toast as the base and topped with your favorite pizza ingredients, these mini pizzas are perfect for a weeknight dinner or a fun snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (8 slices) frozen garlic Texas toast (or homemade if preferred)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni slices (or any other toppings of choice like sausage, mushrooms, or bell peppers)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C), or follow the package instructions on the garlic Texas toast for baking.
  2. Prepare the Texas Toast:
    • Place the frozen garlic Texas toast slices directly on a baking sheet. Bake according to the package instructions (usually about 5-7 minutes), or until they are golden and crispy.
  3. Add the Pizza Sauce:
    • Once the garlic toast is ready, remove it from the oven. Spoon a generous amount of pizza sauce onto each slice of garlic toast, spreading it evenly.
  4. Top with Cheese and Toppings:
    • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then add your choice of toppings. You can use pepperoni, sausage, veggies, or any of your favorite pizza toppings. Finish with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, and dried basil.
  5. Bake the Pizzas:
    • Return the toast pizzas to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges of the garlic toast are crisp.
  6. Garnish and Serve:
    • Once baked, remove the garlic toast pizzas from the oven. Garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize the toppings based on your preferences—these pizzas are very versatile!
  • If you’re using homemade garlic bread or toast, simply toast the bread with butter, garlic, and parsley before adding the pizza sauce and toppings.
  • To make it extra cheesy, sprinkle some extra mozzarella or cheddar on top before baking.
