Description
Golden Fried Peach Pies are a crispy, sweet treat with a warm peach filling spiced with cinnamon. This dessert is perfect for any occasion, and the flaky crust combined with the delicious peach filling creates a mouthwatering dessert loved by all.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups fresh or canned peach slices (drained if canned)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp water
- 1 package (14 oz) refrigerated pie crusts (or homemade)
- Oil for frying
- Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
Instructions
- Prepare the Peach Filling: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the peach slices, sugar, and cinnamon. Stir and cook until the peaches soften and the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes. Mix the cornstarch with water to create a slurry, then stir it into the peach mixture. Cook until thickened, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
- Assemble the Pies: Roll out the pie crusts and cut into 4-5 inch circles using a cookie cutter or a small bowl as a guide. Place a spoonful of peach filling in the center of each circle, leaving room to seal. Fold the dough over to create a half-moon shape. Use a fork to crimp the edges and seal the pies.
- Fry the Pies: Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the pies in batches, 2-3 at a time, until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain.
- Serve: Dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve warm.
Notes
- These pies are best served warm for the crispy, golden texture and delicious peach filling.
- You can freeze the assembled pies before frying to prepare them ahead of time.
