Description
This Greek Yogurt Cookie Dough is a healthier twist on traditional cookie dough, made with creamy Greek yogurt to replace some of the butter. The result is a soft, chewy dough that’s perfect for snacking or turning into delicious cookies. You can enjoy it raw or bake it into cookies for a guilt-free treat!
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (plain, full-fat or low-fat)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- 1 tablespoon milk (if needed for consistency)
Instructions
-
Prepare the dry ingredients:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside. -
Mix the wet ingredients:
In a separate large bowl, beat together the Greek yogurt, butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy. You can use a hand mixer or a whisk for this step. -
Combine the dry and wet ingredients:
Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. If the dough seems too thick or dry, add a tablespoon of milk to reach your desired consistency. -
Add chocolate chips:
Stir in the chocolate chips or any other mix-ins you like (such as chopped nuts, raisins, or mini M&Ms). -
Chill or serve:
You can either chill the dough in the fridge for 30 minutes to make it easier to scoop or use it immediately as edible cookie dough. If you prefer to bake the dough into cookies, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a lined baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are golden brown, but the centers are still soft.
Notes
- This dough can be eaten raw as an edible cookie dough or baked into traditional cookies.
- You can replace the chocolate chips with white chocolate, peanut butter chips, or even mix in crushed candy for a fun twist.
- To make this recipe gluten-free, substitute the all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend.
- For added protein, consider using vanilla-flavored Greek yogurt.
