Description

Kick off your St. Patrick’s Day with a healthy, refreshing Green Digestion Smoothie! Packed with fiber, probiotics, and digestion-boosting ingredients like spinach, ginger, and mint, this smoothie is perfect for keeping you feeling light and energized.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup spinach (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 cup cucumber, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 green apple, cored and chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley
  • 1/2 inch fresh ginger, peeled
  • 1/2 banana (for creaminess)
  • 1/4 cup coconut water (or water)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any milk of choice)
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp chia seeds or flaxseeds (optional)
  • 12 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
  • Ice cubes (optional, for a colder smoothie)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:
    • Wash the spinach, parsley, and green apple. Peel the cucumber and ginger.
    • Chop the apple, cucumber, and banana into smaller pieces to make blending easier.
  2. Blend the Smoothie:
    • Add the spinach, cucumber, green apple, parsley, ginger, banana, coconut water, almond milk, and apple cider vinegar to a blender.
    • If you’re using chia seeds or flaxseeds, add them now as well.
  3. Sweeten and Adjust:
    • Blend until smooth. Taste the smoothie and, if desired, add honey or maple syrup for extra sweetness. If you prefer a thinner consistency, add more water or almond milk.
  4. Serve:
    • Pour the smoothie into a glass, add a few ice cubes if you want it colder, and stir.
  5. Optional Garnish:
    • Garnish with a mint leaf or a sprinkle of chia seeds for extra flair.

Notes

  • Storage: This smoothie is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours if needed. Shake well before drinking if storing.
  • Probiotic Boost: If you want to boost digestion even more, you can add a tablespoon of plain yogurt or kefir for probiotics.
  • Frozen Fruit: You can swap the banana for frozen banana slices for an extra creamy texture, and using frozen spinach or cucumber can make the smoothie colder and thicker.
