Description

Grilled Cajun Shrimp Skewers are juicy, smoky, and packed with bold Cajun spices. They’re quick to prepare and cook in minutes, making them a perfect weeknight dinner or party appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined (tails on optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 tsp salt (optional, depending on Cajun seasoning)
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish (optional)
  • Metal or soaked wooden skewers

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F / 200°C). If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, toss shrimp with olive oil, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and salt if using. Mix until evenly coated.
  3. Thread shrimp onto skewers (4–5 per skewer), keeping them close but not overlapping.
  4. Grill shrimp skewers for 2–3 minutes per side or until shrimp are opaque and slightly charred.
  5. Remove from grill and squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
  6. Serve hot with additional lemon wedges, over rice, salad, or in tacos.

Notes

  • Adjust Cajun seasoning for spice preference — use mild or extra spicy blends.
  • For added flavor, marinate shrimp for 15–30 minutes before grilling.
  • Pairs well with corn on the cob, grilled vegetables, or a creamy dipping sauce like remoulade or garlic aioli.
