Description

These Grilled Lobster Tails are an easy and elegant seafood dish perfect for summer barbecues, special occasions, or a luxurious dinner at home. With tender, juicy lobster meat and a smoky char from the grill, they are brushed with a buttery garlic-herb sauce for a burst of flavor in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 lobster tails (about 68 oz each)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Lobster Tails:
    • Start by using kitchen shears or a sharp knife to cut down the top of the lobster shell, from the base to the tip, being careful not to cut through the tail meat.
    • Gently pull apart the shell and loosen the lobster meat, keeping it attached at the base. Lift the meat and place it on top of the shell, creating a “butterfly” effect.
  2. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, parsley, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  3. Grill the Lobster Tails:
    • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 400ºF/200ºC).
    • Place the lobster tails on the grill, meat side up, and cook for 5-6 minutes.
    • Brush the lobster meat with the garlic butter sauce.
    • Flip the lobster tails and cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until the lobster meat is opaque and firm to the touch. The internal temperature should reach 140ºF (60ºC).
  4. Serve:
    • Once done, remove the lobster tails from the grill.
    • Drizzle with more garlic butter sauce, garnish with extra parsley, and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

  • To ensure the lobster meat stays juicy, avoid overcooking it. The lobster will continue to cook slightly after removing it from the grill.
  • You can also broil the lobster tails in the oven if you don’t have a grill—cook for 10-12 minutes, brushing with butter halfway through.
  • For an extra twist, you can sprinkle a bit of chili flakes on the butter for a spicy kick.
