Description

The Grilled Peanut Butter Banana Sandwich is a nostalgic, melty classic made with creamy peanut butter, sweet banana slices, and golden buttery bread. Grilled to crispy perfection, this comforting sandwich is equal parts crunchy, gooey, and totally satisfying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices of bread (white, whole wheat, or brioche)
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter (creamy or chunky)
  • 1 ripe banana, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter, softened
  • Optional: 1/2 teaspoon honey or cinnamon for extra flavor

Instructions

  1. Spread peanut butter on one side of each bread slice. Add honey or a sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.
  2. Arrange banana slices evenly over one slice of peanut buttered bread, then top with the second slice, peanut butter side down.
  3. Butter the outside of both bread slices.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwich in the skillet and grill for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown and the peanut butter is melted.
  5. Remove from heat, slice in half, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Swap peanut butter for almond or cashew butter for variation.
  • Add a drizzle of maple syrup or chocolate chips for a dessert twist.
  • Use a panini press for even grilling and extra crispiness.
  • Make it vegan by using plant-based butter and bread.
