Description

These festive Grinch Oreo Balls are a delightful holiday treat, combining the rich flavors of red velvet Oreos with creamy cheese and sweet candy melts. Perfect for holiday parties, these no-bake desserts are as fun to make as they are to eat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 24.4 ounces Red Velvet Oreos (2 packages)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 15 ounces light green candy melts
  • Red candy hearts for decoration

Instructions

  • Prepare the Baking Sheet: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Crush the Oreos: In a food processor, pulse the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs. Alternatively, crush them in a zip closure plastic bag with a rolling pin.
  • Mix Cream Cheese: In a large mixing bowl, blend the softened cream cheese with an electric hand mixer on high speed until smooth.
  • Combine Ingredients: Add the Oreo crumbs to the cream cheese and mix well until fully combined.
  • Form Balls: Using a 1.5” cookie scoop, scoop the mixture and roll it into smooth balls. Place them onto the prepared baking tray.
  • Chill: Refrigerate the balls for at least 2 hours to ensure they hold their shape when dipped.
  • Melt the Candy: In a double boiler, melt the light green candy melts over low heat, stirring often until smooth. Be careful not to overheat or let water into the candy.
  • Dip the Balls: Using a fork or toothpick, dip each ball into the melted candy. Tap the fork on the edge of the pot to remove excess candy, then place on the baking sheet.
  • Drizzle (Optional): If desired, drizzle any leftover melted candy over the coated balls. For drizzling, you can use a microwave-safe piping bag to melt the reserved candy melts.
  • Garnish: Immediately top with a red candy heart before the drizzle sets.
  • Final Chill: Return the balls to the refrigerator to set completely.

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • If you prefer a thicker coating, dip the balls twice.
