Description
These adorable Grinch Oreo Balls are a fun and festive treat perfect for the holiday season! With a creamy, chocolatey center and a vibrant green coating, these no-bake bites are easy to make and irresistibly delicious. They’re great for Christmas parties, gift-giving, or a sweet snack
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (15.25 oz) Oreo cookies
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 12 oz white chocolate chips or candy melts (for coating)
- Green food coloring
- Red candy hearts or sprinkles (for decoration)
Instructions
- Prepare Oreo Mixture: Using a food processor, crush the Oreos into fine crumbs. Alternatively, place the Oreos in a large zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin. In a mixing bowl, combine the Oreo crumbs with the softened cream cheese and mix until well blended.
- Form Balls: Roll the Oreo and cream cheese mixture into 1-inch balls, placing them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Chill: Refrigerate the Oreo balls for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- Prepare Coating: While the balls chill, melt the white chocolate chips or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir every 30 seconds until smooth. Add green food coloring to the melted chocolate until you reach the desired Grinch green color.
- Coat the Balls: Once the Oreo balls are chilled, dip each one into the green chocolate coating, covering it completely. Use a fork to remove excess coating, and place the balls back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Decorate: While the coating is still wet, place a small red candy heart or sprinkle on top of each ball to create the Grinch’s “heart.”
- Set and Serve: Let the coated balls sit at room temperature or refrigerate until the coating is firm. Serve once the chocolate has set.
Notes
- You can use dark chocolate, milk chocolate, or white chocolate for the coating based on preference, but white chocolate creates the classic look for these Grinch Oreo Balls.
- If you don’t have candy melts, you can use white chocolate chips; just be sure to melt them gently to avoid burning.
- Store the finished Oreo balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
