Description

Combine juicy seasoned beef with gooey melted cheese between crispy, buttery bread for a hearty lunch or quick dinner. This Ground Beef Grilled Cheese Sandwich is sure to satisfy your cravings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • 4 slices of bread (thick-cut or your favorite type)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • Optional: pickles, jalapeños, or sautéed mushrooms for extra toppings

Instructions

  • Cook the Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain any excess fat. Add the finely chopped onion, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the onion softens. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Prepare the Sandwiches: Butter one side of each slice of bread. On the unbuttered side of two slices, sprinkle a layer of shredded cheese, then spoon some of the cooked ground beef on top. Add another layer of shredded cheese, then place the remaining two slices of bread on top (buttered side facing out).
  • Grill the Sandwiches: Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted.
  • Serve: Once the sandwiches are golden and the cheese is gooey, remove from heat. Slice in half and serve hot. Add pickles, jalapeños, or sautéed mushrooms for extra flavor if desired.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize with your favorite toppings or different cheeses.
  • For a bit of spice, consider adding sliced jalapeños inside the sandwich.
