Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce or salsa
- 4–6 large flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican cheese blend
- 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup sour cream (optional)
- Hot sauce or jalapeños (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3 minutes. Add garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
- Add ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 6–8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Season the beef with chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir in tomato sauce or salsa and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until soft and pliable.
- Spoon the beef mixture onto each tortilla, then top with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, and other desired toppings.
- Wrap tightly by folding in the sides and rolling up from the bottom. Slice in half and serve warm.
Notes
- For crispy wraps, grill them in a skillet after wrapping until golden and warm.
- You can swap ground beef for ground turkey or plant-based meat.
- Make it spicy by adding chopped jalapeños or hot sauce to the filling.
