Description

This classic guacamole is a creamy, flavorful dip made with ripe avocados, fresh lime juice, and a blend of seasonings. It’s the perfect addition to any Mexican dish or just served with chips!


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
  • 1 small red onion, finely diced
  • 12 jalapeño peppers, seeds removed and finely chopped
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp salt, to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mash the avocados with a fork or potato masher until you reach your desired consistency (smooth or chunky).
  2. Add the finely diced red onion, chopped jalapeños, diced tomato, and chopped cilantro to the mashed avocados.
  3. Stir in the lime juice, garlic powder, cumin (if using), salt, and black pepper. Mix everything together until well combined.
  4. Taste and adjust the seasoning, adding more lime juice, salt, or pepper if necessary.
  5. Serve immediately with tortilla chips, tacos, or as a topping for your favorite Mexican dishes.

Notes

  • If you prefer a spicier guacamole, leave the seeds in the jalapeños or add more to taste.
  • To keep your guacamole fresh, cover it with plastic wrap pressed directly against the surface to prevent browning, and store in the refrigerator for up to 1 day.
  • For extra creaminess, you can add a tablespoon of sour cream or Greek yogurt to the guacamole.
