Description

These Gummy Glazed Donuts are a fun and colorful twist on the classic donut! With a soft, fluffy donut base and a chewy gummy glaze, these donuts are a playful treat that both kids and adults will love. Perfect for parties, breakfast, or a fun dessert!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Donuts:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract (optional)

For the Gummy Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup gummy candy (such as gummy bears, gummy worms, or fruit snacks)
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (optional, for extra flavor)
  • Food coloring (optional, for vibrant glazes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven – Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan with non-stick spray.
  2. Make the Donut Batter – In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon (if using). In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract (if using). Combine the wet and dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  3. Fill the Donut Pan – Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each well about 3/4 full.
  4. Bake the Donuts – Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a donut comes out clean. Let the donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  5. Make the Gummy Glaze – While the donuts are cooling, place the gummy candy in a heatproof bowl. Heat the gummy candy and water in the microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until the gummies are completely melted and smooth. Stir in the corn syrup and vanilla extract (if using). If you want to color the glaze, add a few drops of food coloring at this point.
  6. Glaze the Donuts – Once the donuts have cooled, dip the tops of each donut into the gummy glaze. Allow the excess glaze to drip off, and let the donuts sit for a few minutes to allow the glaze to set.
  7. Serve – Enjoy your gummy glazed donuts immediately or store them in an airtight container for up to 2 days.

Notes

  • You can use any type of gummy candy for the glaze, but gummy bears or gummy worms work especially well.
  • For extra decoration, sprinkle the glazed donuts with sprinkles, edible glitter, or colored sugar.
  • If you prefer a less sweet donut, you can skip the gummy glaze and enjoy the donuts plain or with a powdered sugar glaze instead.
