Description

These spooky stuffed crescent rolls are shaped like intestines and filled with a savory mixture of turkey, marinara, and cheese. Perfect for a Halloween-themed party, these creepy yet delicious rolls are easy to prepare and will delight both kids and adults.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crescent Intestines:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 cup marinara pasta sauce, plus more for brushing
  • 2 tubes crescent roll sheets
  • 3/4 cup shredded mozzarella, plus more for topping

For the Garlic Butter:

  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  • Prepare the Filling:
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté red onion and red bell pepper until softened, about 2-3 minutes.
    • Add ground turkey and cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5 minutes. Season with garlic powder, seasoned salt, and oregano.
    • Stir in 1 cup of marinara sauce and remove from heat. Allow the mixture to cool slightly.
  • Prepare the Crescent Rolls:
    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • Roll out crescent dough sheets and cut each into 3 long strips.
    • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella down the center of each strip. Top with turkey filling, then fold the sides of the dough up and around the filling, pinching the edges to seal.
  • Shape the Intestines:
    • Arrange stuffed crescent rolls in a wavy, winding pattern on the prepared baking sheet, resembling intestines. Leave space between the rolls.
  • Prepare the Garlic Butter:
    • Mix melted butter with garlic powder. Brush this mixture over the shaped crescent rolls.
  • Bake:
    • Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and lightly brush with extra marinara sauce.
    • Arrange any leftover turkey filling around the rolls, sprinkle more mozzarella on top, and return to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes, until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  • Serve:
    • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Ensure the dough is well-sealed to prevent leaking during baking.
  • Use a cookie scoop to evenly portion the turkey filling.
