Description
Hawaiian Roll Cheeseburger Sliders are a fun, bite-sized version of the classic cheeseburger, perfect for parties or casual gatherings. The sweetness of the soft Hawaiian rolls complements the savory flavors of the cheeseburger filling, making them a crowd favorite.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 Hawaiian rolls (whole, not sliced into individual rolls)
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 12 slices American cheese (or cheddar)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- Pickles, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Keep the Hawaiian rolls whole (do not separate them) and place them in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
- Season the beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine and cook for another 1-2 minutes to incorporate the seasonings. Remove from heat.
- While the beef is cooking, cut the Hawaiian rolls horizontally, keeping them in one piece (like a sandwich). Place the bottom half of the rolls in the prepared baking dish.
- Evenly spread the cooked beef mixture over the bottom half of the rolls.
- Layer the slices of cheese over the beef. You can overlap them to cover the entire surface.
- Place the top half of the rolls on top of the cheese, pressing gently to ensure everything is compacted.
- In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, and ketchup. Brush this mixture over the top of the rolls for extra flavor and a glossy finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the sliders are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with pickles (if desired), and slice into individual sliders. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- If you want to add extra flavor, try mixing some sautéed onions or caramelized onions into the beef mixture.
- You can use different cheeses, such as cheddar, provolone, or Swiss, depending on your preference.
- For a spicier version, add some jalapeño slices or a dash of hot sauce to the beef mixture.
- For a more decadent touch, consider topping the sliders with a dollop of special sauce or a spread of mayonnaise.
