Instructions
- Preheat the oven:

- Add the eggs and vanilla:

- Combine the dry ingredients:
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Stir in the chocolate chips:
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula or wooden spoon.
- Shape the cookies:
- Lightly flour a clean surface or your hands, and take a small ball of dough (about 1-2 tablespoons in size). Roll the dough into a ball and flatten it slightly into a disc.
- Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, press down into the dough and carefully lift the cutter to remove the heart-shaped cookie. Place each heart-shaped cookie onto the prepared baking sheet.
- If you don’t have a heart-shaped cookie cutter, you can use a round cookie cutter and shape the dough by hand into a heart before baking.
- Bake the cookies:
- Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still slightly soft.
- Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheet for 2-3 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
