Description

These Heart-Shaped Peanut Butter Cookies are the perfect treat for any occasion, especially for Valentine’s Day! Soft, chewy, and packed with that rich peanut butter flavor, they’re a sweet gesture of love!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted peanut butter (creamy or chunky)
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
  2. Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the peanut butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined. Add the egg and mix until smooth.
  3. Add dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the peanut butter mixture, stirring until combined.
  4. Shape the cookies: Scoop a tablespoon of dough and roll it into a ball. Then roll the dough ball in powdered sugar. Using your hands or a cookie cutter, shape the dough into hearts or flatten with a fork to make a crisscross pattern, or simply press the dough with your hands to form a heart shape.
  5. Bake: Place the shaped dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  6. Cool: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Serve: Once cooled, enjoy your heart-shaped peanut butter cookies with a glass of milk or as a gift for your loved ones!

Notes

  • For extra sweetness, you can drizzle melted chocolate on top of the cookies once they’re cooled.
  • If the dough is too sticky to work with, refrigerate it for 30 minutes to firm up before shaping.
  • These cookies store well in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
