Description

These Hershey’s Red Velvet Blossoms Cookies are a delightful combination of soft red velvet cookies and a sweet Hershey’s Kiss nestled in the center. With a rich cocoa flavor and a beautiful red hue, they are perfect for special occasions or just a sweet treat to brighten your day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 30 Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • Cream Butter and Sugar: In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add Egg and Color: Add the egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract. Mix well until everything is combined.
  • Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients into the butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Roll the Cookies: Scoop out about a tablespoon of dough and roll it into a ball. Roll each ball in powdered sugar.
  • Bake the Cookies: Place the rolled balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  • Add the Kisses: As soon as you take them out of the oven, press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie.
  • Cool: Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For a thicker icing, you can add more powdered sugar when rolling the cookies.
  • Make sure to press the Hershey’s Kisses in right after baking for the best melting effect.
