- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups cake flour
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
- 1 ½ teaspoons cornstarch
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ cups butter, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
For the Decoration:
- Halloween sprinkles
- Orange, green, and purple gel food coloring
Instructions
- Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Cream Butter and Sugar: Beat the softened butter and white sugar in a stand mixer on high speed until light and fluffy.
- Add Eggs and Vanilla: Incorporate eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Blend in the vanilla extract until fully mixed.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, cake flour, baking soda, cornstarch, and salt.
- Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, mixing on medium speed until just combined.
- Color the Dough: Divide dough into three portions. Color each portion with orange, green, and purple gel food coloring. Knead each until the color is evenly distributed.
- Form Cookies: Scoop about 2 teaspoons of each color dough, roll into balls, and press together without blending colors. Form into a ball and slightly flatten.
- Add Sprinkles and Chips: Roll edges of the dough balls in Halloween sprinkles. Place them on the baking sheet, pressing white chocolate chips into the top and sides.
- Chill Dough: Refrigerate cookies for 30 minutes to chill.
- Preheat Oven: Heat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Bake Cookies: Arrange chilled dough balls on the parchment-lined sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 12-14 minutes, until edges are set. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Store: Once cooled, store in an airtight container to keep fresh.
