Description

Crispy, flavorful chicken nuggets coated in a crunchy BBQ potato chip crust. These homemade nuggets are perfect for kids and adults alike, and they make an easy and tasty snack or dinner!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 cups BBQ-flavored potato chips, crushed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for frying)
  • BBQ sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Coatings:
    • In one shallow bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
    • In another shallow bowl, beat the eggs.
    • In a third shallow bowl, place the crushed BBQ potato chips.
  2. Coat the Chicken:
Dip each piece of chicken into the flour mixture, ensuring it’s evenly coated. Then dip it into the beaten eggs, followed by coating it with the crushed BBQ chips, pressing gently to adhere.
  3. Cook the Nuggets:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken nuggets in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/74°C).
  4. Serve & Enjoy:
Remove the chicken nuggets from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Serve immediately with BBQ sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • You can use any type of BBQ chips you like—choose a sweet, smoky, or spicy flavor depending on your preference.
  • If you prefer baking over frying, place the coated nuggets on a baking sheet and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • For extra flavor, sprinkle some extra seasoning on the chips before coating the chicken.
