Description

These Homemade Crunch Bars are a perfect sweet and crunchy treat made with just a few simple ingredients! Crispy rice cereal is coated in creamy chocolate and topped with a rich, smooth layer of chocolate for the ultimate indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups crispy rice cereal (such as Rice Krispies)
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter (optional for added richness)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional for added flavor)

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, pour the crispy rice cereal and set aside.
  3. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter, milk chocolate chips, and semisweet chocolate chips over low heat, stirring occasionally until fully melted and smooth.
  4. If using, stir in the peanut butter and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the crispy rice cereal and gently fold until the cereal is evenly coated.
  6. Press the coated cereal mixture into the prepared baking pan, making sure it’s even and compacted.
  7. Refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 hour to allow it to set.
  8. Once set, remove the crunch bars from the pan and cut into squares or rectangles.
  9. Serve and enjoy your homemade crunch bars!

Notes

  • For a fun variation, you can add mini marshmallows or chopped nuts into the mixture before pressing it into the pan.
  • These bars store well in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week or in the fridge for longer freshness.
