- 4 cups crispy rice cereal (such as Rice Krispies)
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup peanut butter (optional for added richness)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional for added flavor)
Instructions
- Line an 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- In a large mixing bowl, pour the crispy rice cereal and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter, milk chocolate chips, and semisweet chocolate chips over low heat, stirring occasionally until fully melted and smooth.
- If using, stir in the peanut butter and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the crispy rice cereal and gently fold until the cereal is evenly coated.
- Press the coated cereal mixture into the prepared baking pan, making sure it’s even and compacted.
- Refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 hour to allow it to set.
- Once set, remove the crunch bars from the pan and cut into squares or rectangles.
