For the Gyros:

- 1 tablespoon olive oil
For the Sautéed Peppers and Onions:
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 large bell pepper, thinly sliced (use any color)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Gyro Assembly:
- 4–6 pita or flatbreads
- 1/2 cup tzatziki sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- Chopped tomatoes (optional)
- Fresh lettuce (optional)
- Feta cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the Ground Beef:
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the ground beef, breaking it up with a spatula. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned.
- Season the beef with garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes until the beef is fully cooked and well-seasoned. Set aside.
- Sauté the Peppers and Onions:
- In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil.
- Toss in the sliced onions and bell peppers, and cook for about 5-7 minutes until they soften and develop a slight char.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, then remove from heat.
- Assemble the Gyros:
- Warm the pita or flatbreads in a dry pan or microwave for a few seconds.
- Spread a generous amount of tzatziki sauce on each pita.
- Add a spoonful of the cooked ground beef mixture on top.
- Pile on the sautéed peppers and onions.
- Optional: Add chopped tomatoes, fresh lettuce, and crumbled feta cheese for extra flavor and texture.
- Serve:
- Fold each pita or flatbread into a gyro wrap, and serve warm.
- Enjoy with a side of fries or a fresh Greek salad for a complete meal.
