Description

These delicious homemade pizza pockets are versatile, easy to make, and perfect for any pizza lover! Choose between the classic pepperoni and mozzarella filling or a tasty broccoli and cheddar option. Ideal for busy weeknights, parties, or a fun family meal.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Classic Pizza Pockets:

  • 1 refrigerated classic pizza crust
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 oz pepperoni slices
  • 4 oz can sliced black olives, drained

For the Broccoli & Cheddar Pizza Pockets:

  • 1 refrigerated classic pizza crust
  • 3/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 1/2 cups finely chopped broccoli (from a 12 oz frozen bag, thawed)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and place the oven racks in the middle. Grease two baking sheets or line with parchment paper.
  • Prepare the Dough: On a lightly floured surface, divide the pizza dough in half. Roll each half into a circle about 6-8 inches in diameter. Transfer two dough circles to each baking sheet.
  • Assemble the Classic Pizza Pockets: Spread pizza sauce over half of each dough circle. Add mozzarella cheese, pepperoni slices, and black olives on top. Fold the dough over to form a pocket and press the edges together with fingers or a fork to seal. Cut a few small slits in the top for steam to escape.
  • Assemble the Broccoli & Cheddar Pizza Pockets: Brush olive oil over the dough circles and sprinkle with Italian seasoning. In a medium bowl, mix the chopped broccoli with cheddar and mozzarella cheese. Place the broccoli mixture onto one half of each dough circle, then fold the dough over to form a pocket. Press the edges to seal and cut a few slits in the top.
  • Bake: Bake for 25-30 minutes, swapping the trays halfway through baking, until the crust is golden brown and crispy. Let the pizza pockets cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Feel free to customize the fillings based on your preferences. You can add vegetables, different meats, or cheese combinations!
