Description

Homemade Pizza Pockets are perfect for a quick meal or snack. These hand-held delights are versatile, allowing you to add your favorite fillings for a delicious, portable pizza experience!

Ingredients

Scale
  • For Classic Pizza Calzone:
    • 1 refrigerated classic pizza crust
    • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
    • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
    • 2 oz pepperoni slices
    • 4 oz can sliced black olives, drained
  • For Broccoli & Cheddar Calzone:
    • 1 refrigerated classic pizza crust
    • 3/4 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
    • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
    • 3 tbsp olive oil
    • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
    • 1 1/2 cups finely chopped broccoli (12 oz frozen bag, thawed)

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and position the racks in the middle. Grease two baking trays or line them with parchment paper.
  • On a lightly floured surface, divide the pizza dough into two halves. Roll each half into a circle, about 6-8 inches in diameter. Transfer the dough circles to the baking trays.
  • Spread pizza sauce on one half of each dough circle.
  • Top with mozzarella cheese, pepperoni slices, and black olives.
  • Fold the dough over the filling to form a pocket, pressing the edges together with your fingers or a fork to seal. Cut small slits in the top to allow steam to escape.
  • Brush the dough with olive oil and sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
  • In a bowl, mix chopped broccoli with cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
  • Spoon the broccoli mixture onto one half of each dough circle, fold the dough over the filling, and seal the edges. Cut slits in the top.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, swapping the trays halfway through baking, until the crust is golden brown and crispy.
  • Let the calzones cool slightly before serving.

Notes

These calzones can be customized with your favorite fillings. Consider adding different vegetables or cheeses to suit your taste.
