Description
Enjoy the comforting flavors of fall with this Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte. It’s a delightful blend of creamy pumpkin milk, aromatic spices, and strong coffee, topped with whipped cream for a perfect seasonal treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy of your choice)
- 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
- 1–2 tablespoons sugar (to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice, plus extra for garnish
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup strong coffee or 2 shots of espresso
- Whipped cream (for topping)
Instructions
- Prepare the Pumpkin Milk Mixture: In a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the milk, pumpkin puree, sugar, and pumpkin pie spice. Heat the mixture, stirring often, until it’s hot and steaming, but do not let it boil.
- Blend for Frothiness: Remove the saucepan from the heat and whisk in the vanilla extract. If you have an immersion blender, blend the mixture until it becomes frothy. Alternatively, you can transfer the mixture to a blender and blend until frothy, or use a milk frother.
- Prepare the Coffee: Brew your strong coffee or espresso.
- Assemble the Lattes: Divide the hot coffee or espresso between two mugs. Pour the pumpkin milk mixture over the coffee in each mug.
- Garnish and Serve: Top each latte with whipped cream and a sprinkle of extra pumpkin pie spice. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- Dairy-Free Option: Use almond milk, soy milk, or oat milk for a dairy-free version.
- Sweetness: Adjust the sugar according to your taste or substitute with maple syrup or honey.
- Spice Level: Increase or decrease the pumpkin pie spice to suit your preference.
