Ingredients
Scale

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine granulated sugar, light corn syrup, water, and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.

- Remove from heat and quickly stir in the butter and vanilla extract. Add food coloring if desired.
- Carefully pour the hot mixture onto a greased marble slab or heatproof baking sheet. Let it cool for about 5 minutes until just cool enough to handle.

- Roll into a long rope and cut into bite-sized pieces. Wrap each piece in wax paper to prevent sticking.
Notes
- Ensure the temperature is accurate for the best texture.
- Use butter on your hands to prevent sticking while pulling the taffy.
