Description

Honey Lime Chicken Wonton Tacos are crispy, sweet, and tangy mini tacos packed with tender chicken, fresh slaw, and zesty sauce. These crowd-pleasing bites are perfect for parties, appetizers, or a creative weeknight dinner!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs), cooked and shredded
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • Juice and zest of 1 lime
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • 12 square wonton wrappers
  • Cooking spray or oil for brushing
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage or coleslaw mix
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons sliced green onions
  • 1/4 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spray a muffin tin with nonstick spray.
  2. Press each wonton wrapper into a muffin cup to form a taco shell. Spray or brush with oil. Bake for 7–9 minutes until crisp and golden. Remove and cool.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add shredded chicken, honey, lime juice and zest, soy sauce, garlic powder, and chili flakes. Stir to combine and heat through, about 3–4 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, mix sour cream, mayo, and sriracha. Set aside as a drizzle sauce.
  5. To assemble: Fill each crispy wonton shell with honey lime chicken, a pinch of shredded cabbage, and top with cilantro, green onions, and a drizzle of the creamy sauce.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy the crunch!

Notes

  • Use rotisserie chicken to save time.
  • Wonton cups can be baked ahead and stored in an airtight container for 2 days.
  • Swap honey lime chicken for ground turkey or shrimp if preferred.
  • Make it gluten-free by using GF soy sauce and GF wonton wrappers.
