Description

This homemade hot fudge sauce is rich, creamy, and perfect for drizzling over ice cream, brownies, or any dessert that needs a decadent chocolate topping. Easy to make with just a few ingredients, this sauce will elevate any treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt


Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy whipping cream, butter, sugar, and cocoa powder. Stir to combine.

  • Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the butter has melted and the sauce is smooth.

  • Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Let it cook for about 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens slightly.

  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.

 

  • Let the sauce cool for a minute or two before serving over ice cream, brownies, or any dessert of your choice.

Notes

  1. Store any leftover hot fudge sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Reheat in the microwave or on the stove before serving.

  2. For an extra rich fudge sauce, you can add 1/4 cup of chocolate chips after removing the sauce from the heat and stir until melted and smooth.

  3. You can adjust the thickness of the sauce by simmering it a little longer or adding more cream if you prefer a thinner sauce.
