Description

This indulgent and creamy Joe’s Crab Shack Crab Dip is packed with tender crab meat, savory cheese, and delicious seasonings. Perfect for serving as an appetizer at parties, gatherings, or special occasions!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lump crab meat (cooked, drained, and flaked)
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning (or seafood seasoning)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for a little heat)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp butter (for greasing the baking dish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a small baking dish (around 8×8-inch) with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, and 1/2 cup of the mozzarella cheese. Stir until smooth and well combined.
  3. Add the lump crab meat, Parmesan cheese, green onions, Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, black pepper, cayenne pepper (if using), lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently to combine, being careful not to break up the crab meat too much.
  4. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  5. Top with the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dip is hot, bubbly, and lightly golden on top.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
  8. Serve with tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh veggies for dipping.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, add a few tablespoons of cream cheese or extra cheese on top before baking.
  • You can prepare this dip a day ahead of time and refrigerate it until ready to bake.
  • If you don’t like spicy, feel free to leave out the cayenne pepper.
