Description

Kentucky Hot Brown Sliders are the perfect bite-sized version of the iconic Kentucky Hot Brown sandwich. These sliders are filled with turkey, crispy bacon, a rich cheese sauce, and all the delicious flavors of the original. They’re a hit at parties, game days, or any gathering!

Ingredients

Scale
  1. For the Sliders:

    • 12 slider buns (preferably soft, like Hawaiian rolls)

    • 1 lb sliced turkey breast (deli-style)

    • 12 slices cooked bacon, halved

    • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

    • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

    • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

    For the Sauce:

    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter

    • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

    • 1 1/2 cups milk (whole or 2%)

    • 1/2 cup heavy cream

    • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

    • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

    • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

    • Salt and pepper to taste

    • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for the sauce)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  2. Prepare the Sliders:
Slice the entire pack of slider buns in half horizontally, keeping them all intact. Place the bottom half of the buns in the prepared baking dish.

  3. Assemble the Sliders:
Layer the sliced turkey evenly over the bottom buns. Place the halved bacon slices on top of the turkey. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses evenly over the bacon. Add the top buns to complete the sliders.

  4. Make the Sauce:
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to make a roux. Slowly whisk in the milk and heavy cream, and continue to cook, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens (about 3-5 minutes). Stir in the Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and salt and pepper to taste. Finally, add the Parmesan cheese to the sauce and stir until fully combined.

  5. Pour the Sauce Over the Sliders:
Once the sauce is ready, pour it evenly over the assembled sliders, covering them generously.

  6. Bake the Sliders:
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.

  7. Serve:
Remove from the oven and let the sliders cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving. Garnish with additional Parmesan or parsley, if desired.

Notes

  • You can add a little more heat to the sauce by adding a dash of cayenne pepper or hot sauce.

  • For extra flavor, you can toast the buns lightly before assembling the sliders.

  • If you want a richer flavor, you can add a little bit of crumbled blue cheese or Swiss cheese to the sliders.
