Description

These homemade Kool-Aid gummy treats are a fun, colorful, and easy-to-make snack. Perfect for kids and adults alike, these gummies are packed with fruity flavor and a chewy texture. Made with your favorite Kool-Aid flavors and a simple 4-step process, they’ll be a hit at parties, as gifts, or just for a tasty treat at home. Customize the flavors and even add edible shimmer dust for a sparkling finish!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 packets (0.13 oz each) of your favorite Kool-Aid flavors
  • 3 tablespoons unflavored gelatin
  • ½ cup cold water
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ⅓ cup light corn syrup
  • Gummy bear molds
  • (Optional: Edible shimmer dust for a sparkling effect)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Gelatin:
In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over cold water. Let it sit for about 5-7 minutes until it absorbs the liquid and thickens.
  2. Make the Sugar Syrup:
In a small saucepan, combine granulated sugar and corn syrup over medium heat. Stir constantly until the sugar dissolves completely and the mixture becomes clear and smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. Incorporate the Gelatin & Flavoring:
Stir the bloomed gelatin into the warm syrup until it is completely melted and incorporated. Add the Kool-Aid powder and stir until the mixture is smooth and evenly colored.
  4. Fill the Molds:
Using a dropper or small spoon, carefully fill the gummy bear molds with the liquid mixture. Work quickly, as the mixture will begin to set as it cools.
  5. Let the Gummies Set:
Allow the molds to sit at room temperature for about an hour, or place them in the refrigerator for 25-30 minutes to speed up the setting process.
  6. Remove from Molds & Store:
Gently pop the gummies out of the molds. If they are sticking, briefly place the mold in warm water to loosen them. Store in an airtight container at room temperature. These gummies will stay fresh for up to a week.

Notes

  • For fun, mix different flavors! Try layering two or more Kool-Aid colors in one mold for a multi-flavored gummy.
  • Customize the texture! Use less gelatin for a softer bite or more for a firmer chew.
