Description
Lemon and Thyme Roasted Sea Bass is a light, fresh, and flavorful seafood dish that’s perfect for a special occasion or a healthy weeknight meal. The delicate white fish is roasted to perfection with fresh lemon and thyme, creating a beautifully fragrant and tender dish. Paired with a simple side salad or roasted vegetables, this dish is both elegant and easy to prepare.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 sea bass fillets (skin on or off, as preferred)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 lemon, sliced into rounds
- 4 sprigs fresh thyme (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease with olive oil. - Prepare the sea bass:
Pat the sea bass fillets dry with paper towels. Drizzle the olive oil over the fillets and rub it in evenly. Season with salt and pepper on both sides.
If desired, sprinkle the minced garlic over the fillets for an extra layer of flavor. - Add lemon and thyme:
Place the sea bass fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Arrange lemon slices over the top of each fillet. Tuck the thyme sprigs around the fish, or sprinkle the dried thyme over the fillets. - Roast the fish:
Roast the sea bass in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The cooking time may vary slightly depending on the thickness of the fillets. - Serve:
Remove the fish from the oven and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve immediately with your choice of sides such as roasted vegetables, steamed greens, or a light salad.
Notes
- You can substitute sea bass with other white fish such as cod, snapper, or halibut if preferred.
- For a touch of extra richness, drizzle a little melted butter over the fish just before serving.
- If you don’t have fresh thyme, you can use dried thyme, but fresh gives a more aromatic flavor.
