Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine sugar, water, lemon juice, and lemon zest.
  2. Bring mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves.
  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.
  4. Remove from heat and slowly whisk in heavy cream and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Let the syrup cool slightly before serving or storing in a jar in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • For a dairy-free version, substitute heavy cream with coconut cream.
