Description

These Loaded Cheesy Pocket Tacos are a fun and delicious twist on traditional tacos, combining seasoned beef, creamy cheese, and a touch of salsa all wrapped up in a crispy tortilla. Perfect for a quick and satisfying meal!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • ½ cup salsa
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 12 6-inch tortillas
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

  • Cook the Beef:
    • Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until fully browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain any excess liquid.
    • Stir in the taco seasoning according to packet instructions, ensuring the beef is well-seasoned.
  • Prepare the Cream Cheese Mixture:
    • In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Mix in the salsa until fully combined.
  • Assemble the Pocket Tacos:
    • Lay a tortilla flat. Spread a portion of the cream cheese mixture down the center of the tortilla.
    • Top with a generous amount of the seasoned beef and sprinkle with shredded Cheddar cheese.
    • Fold the tortilla around the filling to form a pocket, similar to a burrito. Repeat with the remaining tortillas.
  • Bake the Pocket Tacos:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.
    • Place the filled tortillas on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with melted butter to achieve a golden, crispy finish.
    • Bake for about 15 minutes, or until the tortillas are crisp and golden.
  • Serve:
    • Enjoy the loaded cheesy pocket tacos hot, straight from the oven. They’re great on their own or with your favorite taco toppings and dipping sauces!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding diced onions or peppers to the beef mixture.
  • These tacos can be customized with your favorite toppings like sour cream, guacamole, or salsa.
