Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Fries
    • 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cut into fries
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon paprika
    • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for spice level)
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
    • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • For the Voodoo Sauce
    • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
    • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
    • 2 tablespoons ketchup
    • 1 tablespoon hot sauce (Tabasco or your favorite)
    • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
    • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for heat)
    • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
    • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fries:
    • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
    • In a large bowl, toss the cut potatoes with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, pepper, oregano, and onion powder until well-coated.
    • Arrange the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, making sure they don’t overlap.
    • Bake for 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  2. Make the Voodoo Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, ketchup, hot sauce, Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and lemon juice.
    • Stir well until smooth and creamy. Adjust the spice level to your liking by adding more hot sauce or cayenne.
    • Refrigerate the sauce for at least 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  3. Assemble the Voodoo Fries:
    • Once the fries are cooked and crispy, transfer them to a serving platter.
    • Drizzle the voodoo sauce generously over the fries, or serve it on the side for dipping.
    • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley for a pop of color and freshness.
  4. Serve:
    • Serve immediately as a delicious appetizer, side dish, or snack. Enjoy the spicy, tangy goodness of Louisiana Voodoo Fries!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can sprinkle some crumbled bacon or grated cheese over the fries before serving.
  • To make this dish spicier, feel free to add more hot sauce or cayenne pepper in the voodoo sauce.
  • If you prefer to fry the fries, heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry the potatoes until golden and crispy, then drain on paper towels before tossing with the seasoning.
