Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs ground chuck
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) tomato sauce
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 5 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 large onion (or 2 medium onions), diced
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons minced parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried sweet basil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • In an extra-large heated skillet, add olive oil.
  • Add diced onions and diced green pepper; cook for about 5 to 7 minutes on medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and cook until browned.
  • Add ground chuck and cook until browned. Drain excess grease from the meat.
  • Add all seasonings and spices; stir to mix throughout the browned ground chuck.
  • Add crushed and diced tomatoes; stir.
  • Finally, add tomato sauce and stir again. Turn heat to low and let simmer for 1 hour.
  • Meanwhile, boil spaghetti pasta in a large pot for about 7 to 8 minutes, adding 1 tablespoon of olive oil to prevent sticking.
  • Drain the water from the pasta and add the meat sauce. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Feel free to adjust the seasonings to your taste.
