Description

These delightful Malteser Stuffed Crepe Rolls combine light and fluffy crepes with a creamy, chocolatey Malteser filling, making them a perfect treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crepes:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • Butter or oil for cooking

For the Malteser Filling:

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup Nutella or chocolate spread
  • 1/2 cup crushed Maltesers (or any malted milk balls)
  • Extra whole Maltesers for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Make the Crepe Batter:
    • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt.
    • In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, water, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
    • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, whisking until you have a smooth, thin batter. Let the batter rest for 10-15 minutes.
  • Cook the Crepes:
    • Heat a non-stick skillet or crepe pan over medium heat and lightly coat with butter or oil.
    • Pour about 1/4 cup of the batter into the pan, swirling it around to coat the bottom evenly.
    • Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the edges start to lift and the bottom is golden. Flip and cook the other side for another minute. Repeat with the remaining batter.
  • Prepare the Malteser Filling:
    • In a bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
    • Gently fold in the Nutella and crushed Maltesers until well combined.
  • Assemble the Malteser Crepe Rolls:
    • Spread a generous amount of the Malteser filling onto each crepe.
    • Roll the crepes up tightly, folding them like a wrap or rolling them into logs.
  • Garnish and Serve:
    • Slice the rolled crepes into bite-sized pieces if desired and top with extra crushed or whole Maltesers for garnish.
    • Serve immediately for a warm, gooey treat, or refrigerate for a chilled dessert!

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, consider adding a splash of coffee or espresso to the Nutella filling.
  • Ensure the crepes are thin for the best texture.
