Description

Maple Blondies are soft, chewy dessert bars packed with deep maple flavor and hints of brown sugar and vanilla. These one-bowl bars come together quickly and are perfect for cozy gatherings, bake sales, or when you’re just craving a sweet treat. Serve warm or at room temperature for a comforting maple-infused indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and maple syrup until smooth and combined.
  3. Whisk in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. Add the salt and flour, and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Fold in nuts and/or white chocolate chips if using.
  6. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  7. Bake for 22–25 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Let cool in the pan before slicing into squares. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Use Grade B maple syrup for a more pronounced maple flavor.
  • Do not overbake — blondies should be chewy and slightly soft in the center.
  • These blondies freeze well! Wrap individually and store for up to 2 months.
  • Optional add-ins: chopped dried cranberries, toffee bits, or a sprinkle of flaky sea salt on top before baking.
